Some hints:
I've never grown them before.
They don't grow in the valley.
It's a vegetable.
I've been told they are so much better home grown than from the store (what isn't?).
They are typically grown in the south.
They are delicious fresh, but can also be cured and stored through the winter.
In this form it is called a "slip". No Google cheating!!
Any guesses?
