I have much better luck with dead insects and a tripod, of which one was bestowed on me the night of the eclipse. I'm so thankful for it. I'll try to get some more attractive macros up here, things like flowers and butterflies.

More Macro
Well I'm sure everyone is sick of bug pictures, but this is my blog, so I will post what I will. I found a giant yellow jacket today, and was kind of bummed I didn't get any decent pictures from it. It was moving the whole time which made it impossible to get a clear shot. What an impressive looking insect up close. I did keep in mind that the thing could kill me, and should have had my epi pen handy but I was too busy trying to get pictures. This is the only one that was even close to in focus. I was reading about my lens/camera and it sounds like there is a pretty steep learning curve for my lens with focusing and depth of field. I just need more practice.

I have much better luck with dead insects and a tripod, of which one was bestowed on me the night of the eclipse. I'm so thankful for it. I'll try to get some more attractive macros up here, things like flowers and butterflies.
