Birthday Dinner #2

My parents came down to celebrate my birthday tonight and we went to Nirvana Indian restaurant. I had never been there but heard it was better than Evergreen. I don't know that I would say that at this point, after one meal. It was too salty for my tastes, but it was a fun adventure of a meal.
We tried Indian beers. They didn't have the beer that we originally wanted - when faced with the difficult decision of which to pick I asked for the one with the prettiest label. We told our waiter to surprise us after that and I think he might have just gone with the one that had the highest alcohol content. I was having all sorts of college flashbacks with every drink. We had the Haywards 5000 (7%), I think a better choice than the Old Monk 10000 (9%). I vetoed that one from the get go.

They just kept bring more and more food out. The 4 of us split two "feasts" and an appetizer, it was more than enough food.

My mom made me tres leches cake, it was a little different than what I have had before, but still delicious.

It was a nice visit, we showed them our community garden plot and the progress on the chicken coop (it's getting somewhere!). One more birthday dinner to go, with no date set, maybe in a week or two. We have a busy week, honey extracting tomorrow, CPR class Tuesday, Bard in the Quad Thursday and hopefully running around gathering chickens from around the valley on the weekend.

Better than evergreen? Impossible! I am excited to see this honey extraction, sounds sticky. Kat and I are picking again sans tussah tomorrow. We're going to see if we can use Arron's method and double our take :)
