Here is the garden, getting bigger!
Potatoes are blooming.
Our first (and so far only) tomato, it's a Purple Cherokee.
Popcorn is rocking it, will definitely be knee high by fourth of July.
Snow peas are just starting - I love snow peas!
We gave the beans something to climb on the other day.
Pickling cukes are doing well.
Zucchini is pretty much a weed and is growing twice as fast as the other squash.
Winter squash are growing and warm weather is coming this week.
Our sweet corn is coming in spotty, I'm going to try a new variety next year. This is Sugar Buns, a sugar enhanced variety, I think it needs warmer weather to germinate well.
These bees are kicking ass and taking names. They filled up a completely empty super (they had to draw out the wax and collect nectar) in just a week. That is 50 pounds of honey. Amazing. The blackberries have just been open a few days, that will probably be our last big nectar flow. It's looking like we will have enough to harvest after making sure everyone has enough to get through the winter.
These Italian bees are beautiful, but kind of cranky and slow to make honey. We will probably try Carniolans instead next time.
Buffy has also gone back to her broodiness. Which means velociraptor shrieks every time we go outside, and vicious pecking whenever I try to collect the eggs. Camilla at least is very demure about her broodiness. I will call this photo: 2 Hens. 1 Egg.
Not sure what would happen if I let them sit. I'm guessing they would both try and incubate, but who would get to raise the babies?

go bees go! that's awesome! and really, your whole entire garden is awesome. nice job!
(not sure how it would grow in the gorge, but my favorite corn from the twedts farmstand here is called "rocket corn". yum.yum.)
We have two hens that are hell-bent on having babies. They sit in that hot house for hours and put up such a fuss when I take their (non-fertile) eggs. I've got to get them a man!
