Root Harvest

We are alive, well and married! But also busy, as this time of year always is. We have been gone every weekend - pretty happy to have our lives back after the wedding! Another freeing thing was that Aaron installed an electric chicken coop door - it's on a timer and lets them in and out each day. I frigging love it. Hopefully some day I will do a post on that because it was relatively easy to do and only cost $90 - so worth every penny. And pays for itself because we were paying the neighbor kid to watch them when we were gone.

Anyway the goal of this quick post was to talk about what I'm up to today. I pulled all the beets

most of the potatoes

and carrots today

It was messy business.

Now to clean them all up, get them in storage, clean the chicken coop, pick the tomatoes, do some laundry, can some pickles...

You'll have to let us know how you are planning on keeping all the root veggies, it's one reason I haven't pulled my carrots.
